Madame Macaron MKE began when a local caterer asked Toren Engseth, a long time baker, to provide technically and ever challenging French macarons. After glowing reviews, Toren saw an opportunity; gluten-free French macarons had become fiercely popular around the country yet excellent ones were difficult to find in Milwaukee. Toren began perfecting her method of making macarons. She perfected large-scale production techniques, and started selling her own macarons to caterers, restaurants and at local farmers markets and special events. Due to public enthusiasm and interest, she began providing macaron baking parties and classes.
